Experiences against the backdrop of falling in love sometimes turn into insomnia, but simple rules can help cope with such violations, Life.ru reports with reference to neurologist Ekaterina Demyanovskaya.
According to the specialist, if you have “love” insomnia, you should stick to a routine and not stay up late into the night. “It is better to go to bed before 23:00 – it is at this time that the main sleep hormone, melatonin, begins to be actively produced in the body. The peak of melatonin synthesis occurs in the time period from 23:00 to 03:00. Therefore, if you stay up late with your smartphone or TV until late at night, it will be much more difficult to fall asleep,” the doctor explained.
This type of disorder, the neurologist noted, arising against the background of falling in love and related experiences, can last up to three months. They do not require any special treatment and go away on their own. However, there are a few simple ways you can help yourself sleep better.
As Demyanovskaya explained, rituals that you can create yourself are effective. For example, evening walks, baths with herbs, and airing the room before going to bed will be useful.
You can also try keeping a diary where you can write down thoughts that worry you during this period. At the same time, the neurologist noted, you need to try not to worry too much, especially over small things.
