According to the online platform Avito Spetstekhnika, in 2023 there was a sharp increase in demand for new tractors in Russia – by 165%. The number of advertisements for these vehicles also increased by 881%. At the same time, offers for the sale of used tractors increased by only 31%, and demand for them by 33%.
Prices for new tractors jumped 16% over the year, while prices for used ones rose almost 105%. This increase in supply and demand is explained by several factors, including pent-up demand in 2022, the restructuring of logistics chains between China and Russia, as well as the active use of Chinese brands by distributors and dealers, Izvestia writes.
In addition, demand for new light commercial vehicles increased by 11%, and for used ones by 30%. Their prices also increased by 30% and 17%, respectively.
In the trailer sector, prices on the primary market increased by 206%, and demand increased by 4%. On the secondary market, prices rose by 32%, and demand increased by 6%.
The number of advertisements for the sale of new truck cranes increased by 354%, while their cost decreased by 20%. Prices for used truck cranes, on the contrary, increased by 30%. However, the demand for new truck cranes is only 11%, while used equipment is much more popular – 89%.
The number of advertisements for the sale of new municipal equipment also increased – by 81%, and the number of advertisements for the sale of used equipment increased by 10%. Demand for new models increased by 33%, and for used equipment by 12%. However, the vast majority of users prefer used utility vehicles, which account for 95% of demand.
