More than 20 km of tram tracks will be repaired in the Northern capital in 2024.
As the press service of Smolny reported, work is planned in the Central, Nevsky, Vasileostrovsky, Vyborg and Kalininsky districts. It is noted that 4 billion rubles will be allocated from the city budget for the repair of about 22 km of tram tracks.
Governor of St. Petersburg Alexander Beglov noted that this year the authorities will purchase about 900 units of new equipment for the development of public transport. According to him, projects for the construction and reconstruction of tram lines will use domestic materials and modern technologies that reduce the impact of vibration and noise on the urban environment.
One of the most important projects of this year in Smolny was the continuation of the repair of tracks on Sadovaya Street, in the sections from Inzhenernaya Street to Sennaya Square and from Sennaya Square to Voznesensky Prospekt.
The authorities of St. Petersburg also said that during the repairs, specialists are dismantling outdated tram tracks and laying new ones that are more reliable and wear-resistant. In this case, the rails are laid on a monolithic base to reduce vibration loads.
Earlier it was reported that in St. Petersburg they changed the procedure for issuing parking permits to residents.
