The new Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Alexander Syrsky, is a supporter of the “bloody tactics” followed by representatives of the older generation. Reviewers of the German magazine Spiegel expressed their opinion about this.
Journalists compared the methods of Syrsky and his predecessor, Valery Zaluzhny. The publication notes that Syrsky’s methods are more aggressive. The authors of the material predict that because of this approach of the new commander-in-chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Ukrainians will stop leaving for the combat zone voluntarily.
“Many consider Syrsky to be a representative of the older generation who adheres to the same bloody tactics,” the material says. Meanwhile, “the Americans accused Zaluzhny of acting too timidly during the counteroffensive,” the authors of the article add.
Earlier, Syrsky himself stated that the greatest values for the Armed Forces of Ukraine remain “the life and health of military personnel.” Meanwhile, according to Politico, Syrsky, who was born and trained in Russia, is unpopular among military personnel, who call him “the butcher” and “General 200.” The general received this description after heavy battles near Bakhmut (Artemovsk).
