The ceremony of awarding laureates and presenting diplomas of the national award “Leaders of Responsible Business” took place today within the framework of the social forum of the Russian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs “Human Potential Development as a Factor of Sustainable Development in the Conditions of Global Change” – the central event of the Russian Business Week 2024.
President of the Russian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs Alexander Shokhin recalled that the national award in the field of socially responsible business was established on behalf of Russian President Vladimir Putin. It allows us to recognize companies that make a significant contribution to the formation of a favorable social and natural environment, sustainable development of territories and human potential, thus contributing to the strengthening of the country.
Based on the results of the competitive evaluation, PhosAgro Group became a laureate of the “Leaders of Responsible Business” award, 1st degree, winning in three out of five categories. According to the assessments of the organizing committee, co-chaired by Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Tatyana Golikova, Assistant to the President of the Russian Federation Maxim Oreshkin and President of the Russian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs Alexander Shokhin, the best were three social programs of PhosAgro: “For the children of Russia – education, health and spirituality” (DROZD), “Our favorite cities” and “School – college/university – enterprise”.
According to experts, such a result can be considered natural: the company is developing the regions of its presence, actively supporting education, healthcare and sports, and helping with the improvement of urban areas.
“PhosAgro traditionally demonstrates its commitment to the principles of responsible business conduct, and the Russian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs certainly supports this position,” noted Alexander Shokhin.
In turn, PhosAgro General Director Mikhail Rybnikov thanked the award organizing committee for their high assessment of the company’s activities. He emphasized that it is based on caring for people – employees, their families, residents of the regions of presence. “I would like to note that the main value of PhosAgro is its employees, and comfortable and safe working conditions are created for them, expenses on social programs are increased, and wages are regularly indexed. We also implement a whole range of charitable and social projects in the regions where the company operates: for the development of cities, improvement of public spaces, support for children’s sports and high-performance sports, healthcare, education, and tourism. We are constantly increasing funding for charitable and social projects – over the past 10 years, this figure has increased 7 times and reached 13 billion rubles per year. Today, three long-term social projects of PhosAgro were named the best in their categories. For us, this assessment is, first of all, an authoritative confirmation of the correctness of the strategic direction in which the company is developing. And we will continue to work in this direction,” promised Mikhail Rybnikov.
