American journalist Tucker Carlson interviewed Russian President Vladimir Putin. The conversation lasted two hours, Kommersant writes, citing American radio host and blogger Alex Jones.
According to him, the interview is already making Western censors, who are keeping Americans in the dark, nervous.” It will be out “soon,” Jones added.
On February 6, Carlson himself confirmed that he intended to interview Putin in Moscow. “Today we are in Moscow. And we’re here to interview Russian President Vladimir Putin. We will do this soon,” Carlson noted, as quoted by the Interfax agency. The journalist added that almost two years after the start of the Russian special operation in Ukraine, “most Americans are not aware of the situation, they have no real idea of what is happening in this region.”
“We are not here because we love Vladimir Putin. We are here because we love the United States and we want it to remain prosperous and free,” Carlson added, emphasizing that American media coverage of the Ukrainian crisis should not limit itself to reporting only Kyiv’s point of view.
At the same time, the Kremlin previously reported that there was nothing to report yet about Putin’s interview with foreign media.
Let us note that the Russian leader gave his last interview to American journalists in October 2021 – he spoke with the host of the American CNBC television channel Hadley Gamble.
Carlson arrived in Russia at the end of last week. We add that he previously worked for Fox News, but was fired in April 2023. He is known for supporting the Republican Party, as well as criticizing the administration of US President Joe Biden.
