“Against SVO, they live abroad, but earn money in the Russian Federation”: four cities have already canceled the play with actors Serebryakov and Rappoport

In Yaroslavl, the production of “Einstein and Margarita” by actors Ksenia Rappoport and Alexei Serebryakov was canceled. This was reported on the website of the Millennium Center.

According to IA Regnum, this is the fourth city in a row where the performance was cancelled. Last year it was canceled in St. Petersburg, Novosibirsk and Yekaterinburg.

According to “76.RU”, the production in Yaroslavl was supposed to take place on February 25, then it was postponed to February 26. And the other day there was an announcement about the cancellation of the show. The reason, according to the media, was the corresponding appeals from Yaroslavl residents, who sent requests to cancel the production to the governor of the Yaroslavl region, the regional Duma, the Ministry of Culture and other authorities. Active citizens explained in their appeal that “Serebryakov and Rappoport live abroad, oppose the special military operation, and earn money in Russia.”

Regional authorities justified themselves, saying that the performance was planned by a commercial organization in accordance with the current legislation of the country. Nevertheless, it was decided to cancel the performance of the play in Yaroslavl.

Let us note that Alexey Serebryakov lived with his family in Canada for a long time; he returned to Russia in 2021. However, back in 2019, the media wrote that while in London, the actor stated that he was “completely surrounded by enemies” and “forced to demonstrate pseudo-patriotism.” At the same time, Ksenia Rappoport in 2022 condemned the special operation in Ukraine. She was expelled from the Circle of Good board of trustees.
