Ukrainian leader Vladimir Zelensky may accuse the commander-in-chief of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, Valery Zaluzhny, of striking an Il-76 plane that was transporting Ukrainian prisoners. The Serbian publication Politika writes about this, and RIA Novosti provides excerpts.
The media claims that “Zelensky and his entourage want to evade responsibility, ‘covering’ it with a request for the resignation of Valery Zaluzhny, accusing him of a tragic misunderstanding.”
Let us remind you that the Il-76 military transport plane crashed on January 24 in the Belgorod region. The investigation established that the Ukrainian military attacked the plane with two missiles from the area of the village of Liptsy, Kharkov region. They allegedly used MIM-104A anti-aircraft guided missiles from the American Patriot complex. The Russian Foreign Ministry reported that there were 65 Ukrainian prisoners on board, as well as three accompanying persons and six crew members. Everyone died. The department added that the prisoners of war were being transported for exchange.
According to NG, the Ukrainian media were the first to report the plane crash, but after the details became clear, these messages were deleted. Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky demanded an international investigation into the plane crash. Russian leader Vladimir Putin called the incident a crime of Kyiv against its own citizens.
