Rescuers report the localization of a fire on the “Provorny” corvette under construction, which occurred on Friday at the “Severnaya Verf” plant in St. Petersburg.
The message about the beginning of the fire was received at about 18:20. The fire was extinguished by 4 – the highest – number of difficulty, 168 people and 42 pieces of equipment were involved from the EMERCOM of Russia to fight the fire.
At 22:49, the fire was localized, according to the St. Petersburg Main Directorate of the Ministry of Emergency Situations.
The department confirmed that two firefighters were injured during the extinguishing. “In a state of moderate and mild severity, they were taken to a hospital,” the head office said.
Earlier, TASS, referring to a source in the medical services, said that the assistant to the chief of the guard and the firefighter of the fire and rescue unit No. 91 were hospitalized, who received burns to the body and limbs. It was reported that the condition of one was severe, the second was of moderate severity. Both were hospitalized in the All-Russian Center for Emergency and Radiation Medicine named after Nikiforov of the Ministry of Emergencies of the Russian Federation.
