Moscow does not accept the “hellish” sanctions that the West threatens it with, considering them a threat to Russia’s security. This was stated by the Deputy Foreign Minister of the Russian Federation Sergei Ryabkov in an interview with Interfax.
“Not so long ago – a year, one and a half, two years ago, some topics were discussed in the Western circle, as it seemed to us, with a certain, if not internal trepidation, then at least an understanding that they touch on some very fundamental , serious things, “Ryabkov noted.
However, NATO’s permissiveness in relation to Russia is now being noted. And this will sooner or later lead to the fact that Moscow will begin to act in the same vein – “pushing the boundaries of what is permissible,” warned the Deputy Foreign Minister.
He also noted that Moscow considers the demands of the US and NATO to Russia regarding “certain events” on its territory inappropriate. Ryabkov stressed that the Russian Federation had provided all the relevant guarantees even when the Budapest Memorandum was signed in 1994. ” He especially noted that Kiev “with the connivance of Western patrons” is turning over the meaning of the Budapest Memorandum, which concerns security guarantees for Ukraine as a non-nuclear state within the meaning of the NPT. “From this point of view, all guarantees are provided and observed,” Ryabkov stressed.
