The Ministry of Justice of the Russian Federation declared the Anti-War Committee of Russia an undesirable organization, TASS reports, citing relevant materials on the department’s website. The organization was created in February 2022 by politicians, entrepreneurs and scientists who left the country.
Along with the Anti-War Committee, the list of undesirable organizations was also supplemented by affiliated non-profit organizations (NPOs) Russie-Libertes and La Asociacion de Rusos Libres.
After the start of the SVO, businessman Mikhail Khodorkovsky (included by the Ministry of Justice of the Russian Federation in the list of foreign foreign agents), politician Garry Kasparov (included by the Ministry of Justice of the Russian Federation in the list of foreign foreign agents), historian and journalist Vladimir Kara-Murza (included by the Ministry of Justice of the Russian Federation in the list of foreign foreign agents), member of the Russian Academy of Sciences (RAN) Yuri Pivovarov, ex-Prime Minister of Russia Mikhail Kasyanov (included by the Ministry of Justice of the Russian Federation in the list of foreign foreign agents) and scientist-economist Sergei Guriev (included by the Ministry of Justice of the Russian Federation in the list of foreign foreign agents) founded the “Anti-War Committee of Russia”, which sharply opposed the policies of the authorities. Later, it included former State Duma deputy Dmitry Gudkov (included by the Ministry of Justice of the Russian Federation in the list of foreign foreign agents), entrepreneur Evgeny Chichvarkin (included by the Ministry of Justice of the Russian Federation in the list of foreign foreign agents) and economist Sergei Aleksashenko (included by the Ministry of Justice of the Russian Federation in the list of foreign foreign agents).
Earlier it became known that the General Prosecutor’s Office recognized the scientific and production association (NPO) Russian Election Monitor (REM) as an undesirable organization in Russia.
