The family drama “Baby” is being released in Russian cinemas.

A new film from the Lenfilm studio, “Baby,” is coming out on the big screen. Director Irina Bas, in her feature film debut, turns to the story of the complex relationship between mother and daughter, the search for oneself, love and finding the main meanings of life.

Nargiz Bagirzadeh’s script was based on a real story. In the story, eighteen-year-old Dasha, who was raised single-handedly by her father, runs away from home in search of answers to eternal questions: what’s wrong with me if my mother abandoned me? Two heroines – a mother who has forgotten how to love and a daughter who has not known maternal love – step by step they try to see and identify themselves in such a similar and at the same time alien reflection.

A bright and emotional duet of two heroines – young, but already loved by the audience in the projects “Vacation in October”, “YZZZ” and “Dyatlov Pass” Maria Matsel and one of the most popular actresses today, Victoria Isakova (“Tenderness”, “The Man from Podolsk” “, “Thaw”, “Epidemic”, etc.) – can be considered an absolute success of the film.

The film was shot in 2022, and under the working title “Warm Asphalt in Summer” was presented at the “Koroche” festival in August 2023.

The premiere screening of the drama “Baby” for viewers in St. Petersburg will take place on February 1 at the Lenfilm cinema. Tickets for the premiere can be purchased via this link.
