Russian President Vladimir Putin is equally comfortable communicating with the previous US President Donald Trump and the current one – Joe Biden. This was stated by Putin’s press secretary Dmitry Peskov, assessing the experience of his boss’s communication with American leaders.
According to Peskov, RIA Novosti reports, under Biden, communication channels between Moscow and Washington are working, and this is the difference from how the work was organized under Trump.
Peskov also stressed that Putin and Biden are “not friends.” And he clarified: they did not have much time to communicate, but the conversation between the leaders is always “respectful.” However, they disagree on a number of very important issues, and Washington does not want to recognize the “red lines” for Russia. At the last online talks between Putin and Biden, all disagreements were recorded, Peskov said. Putin and Biden communicate normally and clearly communicate their opinions to each other, he added.
Peskov also assured that in relation to the West, Putin takes a “tough but peaceful” position.
