Endocrinologist Ekaterina Young spoke about healthy and affordable products that help normalize cholesterol levels.
A doctor has debunked the myth about the dangers of chicken eggs, which contain about 180 mg of cholesterol. It has little effect on LDL cholesterol levels in the blood due to its harmless form, she said.
At the same time, as Young noted on the social network, products such as fried foods and baked goods, chips, cakes and cookies, the packaging of which claims that they do not contain cholesterol, are actually harmful due to trans fats in the composition.
To normalize cholesterol levels, the doctor advises including five foods in your diet. These are avocado, garlic, arugula, mackerel and citrus fruits.
“Eating one avocado per day may improve low-density cholesterol levels in overweight or obese people,” the endocrinologist wrote. In turn, garlic, due to the presence of allicin, helps eliminate bad cholesterol. Arugula helps the liver metabolize cholesterol and fat, and mackerel, thanks to Omega-3 fatty acids, improves vascular elasticity. Citrus fruits, which contain polyphenols, help keep blood vessels toned.
Previously, Doctor Young listed the top 5 foods for anemia.
