Participants in a special military operation will be recognized as veterans of military operations based on documents on injury or award. The corresponding order was given by Russian President Vladimir Putin. The text of the document was published on the Kremlin website.
According to the instructions of the head of state to the government of the Russian Federation, soldiers of the Northern Military District will be able to receive the status of veterans, regardless of whether they have a contract with the Ministry of Defense.
“Introduce changes to the regulatory legal acts of the Russian Federation to provide for granting the status of combat veteran to persons who took part in a special military operation, on the basis of documents confirming that they received injury or illness during the special military operation,” the document says.
Another basis for assigning veteran status will be a copy of the certificate or documents that state the grounds for the award. It is noted that Putin expects the order to be completed by April 1.
Earlier, Putin instructed to provide proposals to support the common-law wives of fallen Northern Military District soldiers.
Let us recall that during a meeting with residents of Anadyr, the Russian leader had to explain himself due to delays in payments to SVO participants.
