The hearing in the case of alleged violation against Arcentales was postponed.

The investigative process for the death of Naomi Arcentales Sabando, which occurred last Sunday, December 12, in a building located in the Barbasquillo sector in Manta, will now be investigated by the Prosecutor’s Office number 9 of Guayaquil, as announced this afternoon by Luiggi García, a lawyer defender of the young woman’s family.
García indicated that this information was provided by Diana Salazar, the state attorney general, in an attempt to make the investigation transparent. For the lawyer, the main suspect is Juan Carlos I., a couple from Arcentales and who is a prosecutor in the El Carmen canton, in the north of Manabí.
“This so that there is no interference of any nature in the province of Manabí, do not forget that we request the exhumation of the body and we also request that the medical examiners or experts be from the capital of the Republic, specifically from the city of Quito”, Garcia said.
The lawyer arrived at the Manta Palace of Justice to attend the hearing to formulate charges against two of the three people who were accused by Arcentales of allegedly committing sexual abuse against her, on August 20.
The hearing in the case of alleged violation against Arcentales was postponed at the request of the accused, who are known to be businessmen based in Quevedo. It will take place on January 5, 2022.
García questioned whether Luis Ortega, a former lawyer in this case, disclosed data about the investigative process, and believes that this could be considered a criminal offense.
Also this afternoon, Naomi’s mother and the family’s defense attorney maintained that there are chats where images of Naomi are observed after allegedly receiving blows.
Sara Sabando, mother of Arcentales, indicated that after the death of her daughter, she continues to receive messages from friends of her first-born daughter in which screenshots are shown where Arcentales allegedly complains of abuse allegedly from her partner.
Noemi’s partner, through their social media accounts, requested that their grief be respected and that erroneous information not be disclosed in this case.(I)
