The governor of the Pskov region, Mikhail Vedernikov, warned about the shutdown of LTE mobile Internet in the region for five nights. Vedernikov wrote about this in his Telegram channel. From January 25 to January 30, high-speed mobile Internet will not operate at night for all telecom operators, the governor emphasized.
According to the head of the Pskov region, it will not be possible to use LTE from 23:00 to 6:00 local time. The unavailability of the network is due to work in the field of tuning the radio frequency spectrum of the equipment that transmits the signal. 3G work will not stop, Vedernikov added.
The governor warned that it would be “difficult” to get a taxi or use ATMs at night. Other services will work much slower than with the LTE network.
Let us recall that in December last year, the Ministry of Digital Development postponed work on digitalization of Russian regions from 2025 to 2027 in order to install an LTE network in all existing settlements. Among the reasons for the transfer are a lack of equipment and problems with modernizing equipment.
The largest mobile operators, as well as Rostelecom and Roskomnadzor, have not yet commented on the planned LTE shutdown.
