Britain calls on citizens to prepare for a possible war with Russia

The Chief of the General Staff of the Ground Forces of the British Armed Forces, Patrick Sanders, called on citizens to voluntarily join the army and prepare themselves for a possible conflict with Russia, The Times newspaper reports. Sanders believes that the British need to mobilize against the backdrop of foreign policy threats.

The Chief of the General Staff plans to convince ministers to help the military recruit volunteers for the army in the event of an escalation of the Ukrainian conflict, journalists write. According to Sanders, it is important to change the way of thinking of the British so that they are ready to defend the country with arms in hand from attacks by foreign countries. The military leader is convinced that the current British army will not be enough to repel the attack, since London’s forces are now “too small.”

At the same time, the British leadership is considering the possibility of reducing the number of troops in order to optimize the financial resources of the defense budget. London intends to carry out army reform and modernize the country’s weapons. However, Sanders believes that Britain needs to restore its fighting power.

The British Chief of the General Staff is expected to resign within six months.

Earlier, the head of the NATO military committee, Rob Bauer, warned of a possible direct clash between Russia and the West. Bauer called on the population of NATO countries to prepare for conscription into the ranks of the allied forces. Brussels seriously fears that the conflict in Ukraine could escalate into more serious clashes in Europe.
