Foreign Ministry: Kyiv, having shot down an Il-76, called into question the possibility of any agreements

The Russian Foreign Ministry harshly commented on the crash of the Russian Il-76 military aircraft that crashed in the Belgorod region.

Rodion Miroshnik, Ambassador-at-Large of the Russian Foreign Ministry on the crimes of the Kyiv regime, said that Kyiv “committed an act of insane barbarity.” The diplomat noted on the Telegram channel that Ukraine has demonstrated “complete disregard for human life.”

“By violating the agreements, they killed our pilots and escort soldiers and ‘wasted’ their own fellow citizens,” the representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry is indignant. The diplomat also spoke about the consequences of this “bloody incident.” After the crash of the Il-76, “a big question arises about the possibilities of at least some agreements and in any formats.” “If they have not yet violated the guarantees that they give, they will certainly violate them. And there is no doubt about it,” Miroshnik concluded.

Earlier, the State Duma called for starting the procedure for recognizing Ukraine as a terrorist state.

An Il-76 military plane with Ukrainian prisoners on board crashed near Belgorod on Wednesday afternoon; no one survived.

Let us remind you that, according to the head of the DPR Denis Pushilin as of October 2023, there are about 500 Russian soldiers in Ukrainian captivity. At the same time, the number of Ukrainian prisoners of war is estimated at 20–25 thousand.
