The main legal entity of Yandex changed its Dutch owner to a Russian one

The Russian International Company Joint Stock Company (MCAO), registered in Kaliningrad, has become the owner of the key legal entity of the Yandex company, Forbes writes, citing data from the Unified State Register of Legal Entities. According to the publication, MKAO now owns 99.999% of the shares of Yandex LLC. Registration data indicates that the company is located in the special administrative region (SAR) on Oktyabrsky Island.

The Dutch legal entity of Yandex, Yandex NV, as well as Yandex LLC and Tekhnoyak LLC, became the property of ICAO Yandex. Such changes are caused by structural optimization of the company’s internal structure. At the same time, the founder of MCAO is the same foreign legal entity of Yandex – Yandex NV

Let us recall that in December last year, Yandex registered the Moscow Autonomous Okrug on the territory of the Kaliningrad SAR. Then the corporation announced the upcoming transformation of the internal structure of the business, including changes that were supposed to affect the legal entities of the company. In October, the Foreign Investment Commission approved the transformation of the corporation.

In 2022, the founder of Yandex, Arkady Volozh, left the company and left Russia. Last year he spoke out against the SVO in Ukraine. After Volozh’s departure, ex-chairman of the Accounts Chamber of the Russian Federation Alexey Kudrin took over the post of corporate development adviser to the company. Then Kudrin said that he wanted to focus on the development of Yandex instead of getting involved in politics.
