Given the presence of the omicron variant in the country, the National Emergency Operations Committee (COE) made several requests to the cantons to avoid crowds and maintain care against the virus during the Christmas and New Year festivities.
Regarding this, some of the peninsular towns, which tend to receive large numbers of tourists, have taken measures in line with the requirements of the national table.
In the specific case of the Santa Elena canton, the mayor of that jurisdiction, Otto Vera, declared that massive events such as concerts are suspended and that the capacity will be reduced to 75% in the 22 beaches of this jurisdiction, while the schedule will be from 08:00 to 18:00.
When it is reported that the tourist load on a certain beach is about to be fulfilled, the visitors will be distributed to neighboring towns.
For this, there will be 600 people, including municipal inspectors and members of other entities such as the Police, who will also collaborate with the Municipality in inspections of capacity in bars, discos and other establishments. Evaluations will continue to implement other measures to deal with the spread of the virus.
The La Libertad Cantonal Emerging Operations Committee (COE) will meet this Friday the 17th to define guidelines on this same issue.
Salinas will have events
In the case of Salinas, the events prepared by the 84 years of the canton will continue their course, as stated by Eduardo Hesney, a municipal official, who added that they will be carried out respecting biosafety measures, since these activities were already scheduled in advance. .
It was also known that these acts already had the respective permits from the Intendancy before the resolutions of the National COE.
Today, December 17, will be the election of queen at 8:00 p.m. with Joey Montana as a guest; Tomorrow the artist Mike BahÃa will perform and on Sunday Lowsan Melgar will be at the Faith concert. The stage for these three events will be located at Av. United Nations and A1 alley, in the Las Dunas sector.
On the 21st, 22nd and 23rd, a light show will be presented on the facade of the Las Mercedes church, in the Chipipe sector.
