The Prime Minister of Slovakia said that Russia’s surrender of new territories is unrealistic

Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico said that Ukraine must agree to the loss of Crimea and Donbass, otherwise Kyiv will not be able to achieve a peaceful resolution to the current conflict. Russia will not leave Crimea, Donbass and Lugansk, as this is “unrealistic,” Politico quotes Fico as saying.

According to Fico, Russia and Ukraine must seek a compromise in order to begin peace negotiations. At the same time, the Slovak prime minister spoke out sharply against the inclusion of Kyiv in NATO. Fico is confident that such a scenario will lead to a third world war. He also stated that he does not support the supply of European weapons to Ukraine, because he does not see any point in this.

Fico intends to meet with Ukrainian Prime Minister Denis Shmygal to discuss bilateral relations, as well as the prospects for Kyiv’s European integration. The Slovak Prime Minister wants to explain to his Ukrainian counterpart why Bratislava intends to veto Ukraine’s entry into NATO. Fico believes that the Ukrainian state has lost its sovereignty due to too much dependence on the United States.

Earlier, the Prime Minister of Slovakia stated that Ukraine would not receive Slovak weapons. In addition, he called for listening to Moscow’s point of view on the conflict and trying to build a common dialogue with the Kremlin.

The Fico government, unlike the previous one, supports the policies of Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban, former US President Donald Trump and is ready for constructive contacts with Russian President Vladimir Putin. In Europe, Fico is considered a right-wing populist politician.
