Peskov said there is a lack of understanding in the Kremlin of Trump’s plan to resolve the conflict in Ukraine

Moscow does not have a clear idea of how exactly Donald Trump would like to resolve the Ukrainian crisis if elected as US President, said Russian Presidential Press Secretary Dmitry Peskov. According to him, Trump did not contact the Kremlin on foreign policy issues, including the Ukraine problem.

Moscow has “no understanding” of exactly how to implement a peaceful settlement, the Kremlin spokesman said. At the same time, he emphasized that Trump’s representatives did not contact Russian diplomats. There were no discussions on strategies on this issue.

Trump previously said that he would quickly resolve the conflict in Ukraine if voters ensured his victory in the presidential election. The former US President believes that he is well acquainted with both Russian President Vladimir Putin and Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky. According to the politician, he understands his colleagues better than others and will be able to convince them to move towards peace.

Let us remember that Trump has repeatedly convinced journalists that he can end the Ukrainian crisis in 24 hours. At the same time, the politician admits that Kyiv will have to make territorial concessions if Ukraine wants a quick peace. Trump criticizes current US President Joe Biden for his inability to resolve Russian-Ukrainian contradictions and disagreements.

The next presidential election will take place in the United States in November 2024. Biden intends to win them a second time. Trump expressed his readiness to participate in the election race back in November 2022. He intends to return to the White House and radically change Washington’s foreign policy, including on the Ukrainian track.
