Moscow called the attack on Donetsk a terrorist attack against Russians

The strike on the market in Donetsk, which killed 25 people and injured another 20, is a “barbaric terrorist act against the civilian population of Russia.” This was stated by the Russian Foreign Ministry.

The department clarified that the shelling was carried out by the Ukrainian military from Avdiivka “using weapons supplied by the West.”

Russian security forces are already investigating what happened, the Foreign Ministry added, and warned that all those involved and responsible for this and other terrorist attacks on earth will suffer inevitable punishment.” At the same time, the silence of foreign governments and international organizations will be regarded as “tacit approval of the killing of civilians,” the department added.

Moscow also requested an emergency meeting of the organization’s Security Council on January 22 in connection with the attack on Donetsk, said Deputy Permanent Representative of the Russian Federation to the UN Dmitry Polyansky on the Telegram channel. He called on “all responsible governments and relevant international structures” to “strongly condemn” the attack.

Let us remind you that earlier today the Ukrainian Armed Forces attacked the market in the Tekstilshchiki microdistrict of the Kirovsky district of Donetsk. 25 people were killed and another 20 were injured.
