Five minors killed and two injured, the collateral victims of violent attacks in Guayas and Manabí during the last quarter of 2021

The attacks directed at adults are linked to the sale of drugs and robberies, according to the National Police.

Traces of blood on the sidewalk and curb were evident until yesterday morning. Outside a house located in the Voluntad de Dios sector, north of Guayaquil, a woman and her two underage nephews (boy and girl) were attacked by men who were mobilizing on a motorcycle on Wednesday night.

The 5-year-old boy was shot in the head and although he was transferred to the Francisco de Ycaza Bustamante hospital, shortly before midnight the doctors confirmed his death. The 13-year-old girl, cousin of the deceased, stayed until yesterday afternoon in that health home with a reserved prognosis.

According to preliminary versions, the attack was directed at the 41-year-old woman, who runs a food business. She was also wounded, but the bullets did not compromise vital organs and she remained stable until yesterday at the Luis Vernaza hospital, of the Guayaquil Board of Charity.
