A cat named Twix, whom the conductor threw from the Yekaterinburg-St. Petersburg train, died. Volunteers found the animal’s body. Olga Kudryashova, who took part in the search, reported this to REN TV.
According to her, she is currently taking photographs of the dead cat. “I can’t talk now,” the volunteer noted. From the posts of volunteers on social networks, it became known that the cat was found dead in the snow near the railway.
The story with the cat has been one of the most discussed on social networks for several days now. On January 11, Twix the cat was transported from Yekaterinburg to Tikhvin. For unknown reasons, the animal got out of the carrier at the moment when the passenger carrying it dozed off.
The conductor, to whom train passengers allegedly pointed out a cat walking around the carriage, mistaking him for a stray, threw the animal out of the carriage at a stop in Kirov.
The owners have announced a reward for anyone who finds the missing pet. Hundreds of volunteers were involved in the search. However, hopes for a happy outcome were not justified.
According to RIA Novosti, the cat’s owner has already confirmed that the dead cat found near the tracks is extremely similar to the missing Twix.
Russian Railways, commenting on what happened, assured that they would conduct an internal investigation and evaluate the employee’s actions. “We apologize to the passenger for what happened. We will do everything possible to prevent such incidents from happening in the future,” the company said in a statement. The transport prosecutor’s office is also conducting an inspection.
