According to the results of a study conducted by EFKO and A2:Research, 61% of Russians expressed a desire to try the food of the future. For 26% of them, the attractiveness of innovation became the main motivation. Experts note that within 10-20 years, Russians expect plant-based meat in their diet (28%) and consider it a relatively familiar product, writes RT.
According to the study, 25% of respondents assume that in the future people will eat dishes created on a 3D printer. In addition, 22% are interested in innovative sweeteners, 16% imagine eating food from a test tube or bioreactor, and 14% see the future in algae products.
Survey participants believe that the introduction of new technologies in agriculture and the food industry (47%) is a necessary condition for all food to become like this. However, 24% of respondents believe that only deteriorating environmental conditions or overpopulation of the planet can become an incentive to switch to new types of food.
Analysts note that for 23% of respondents, an important incentive to try their future food is the opportunity for free tasting, while 22% are ready to switch to the food of the future for financial compensation. Another 17% of respondents consider this option as a way to overcome their fear of new and unknown products.
