A pensioner from the Leningrad region died, who, out of desperation, performed an operation on herself

Klavdiya Petrova, a 90-year-old pensioner from Vyborg, died in the hospital. She underwent a surgical operation at home out of pain and despair. It is reported by “Komsomolskaya Pravda”.

Two years ago, the woman started bleeding, and at first doctors believed this was a consequence of polyps. But then it turned out that the pensioner had cancer in the last stage with metastases. Claudia Petrova was prescribed treatment, but the woman developed dropsy – a lot of fluid accumulated in the abdominal cavity – an operation was required. But then the woman was diagnosed with a coronavirus.

Because of the infection, they wanted to hospitalize the woman in a covid hospital, but she was afraid to go there and decided to be treated at home. Soon it became unbearable to endure the pain, and the pensioner decided to take a desperate step. She waited until no one was at home, and began to operate on herself with a kitchen knife. Returning home and finding a terrible picture, the relatives called an ambulance. The woman was admitted to the hospital, where she again confirmed the coronavirus.

Three weeks after hospitalization, Klavdia Petrova died. The relatives have not yet been officially announced the cause of death. But first, she died from an underlying disease, that is, from cancer. The operation most likely did not affect her. Tests for coronavirus have already been negative. Nevertheless, before their death, they were not allowed to talk to their relatives with their grandmother, even by phone.
