“The fate of Ukraine will be decided by 2024”: the British Ministry of Defense announced a forecast for Kyiv

The year 2024 will be decisive in the fate of Ukraine and a turning point in the conflict between Kyiv and Moscow. This opinion was expressed by the head of the British Ministry of Defense, Shapps, the department’s press service reports.

“2024 should be a turning point. For Ukraine, this will be the year when the fate of their nation may be decided. For the whole world, this will be the greatest democratic year in history, when almost half of the planet’s population will go to the polls,” Shapps noted, as quoted by RBC.

He stressed that the number of conflicts around the world is likely to increase.

The minister also promised that London would not refuse to support Kyiv in 2024. He said that since 2015, more than 60 thousand Ukrainian military personnel have been trained in Britain.

In addition, London is preparing to deploy 20,000 British troops to NATO’s eastern flank in February to participate in the Steadfast Defender exercise, Shapps added.

Bild previously reported that Germany is preparing for a military clash between NATO and Russia. It was noted that the secret document outlined a possible “Path to Conflict” between Russia and the North Atlantic Alliance. Likely actions by Russia and the West are being described month by month, culminating in the deployment of hundreds of thousands of NATO troops and the “imminent outbreak of war” in the summer of 2025. However, the Russian Foreign Ministry called these plans last year’s horoscope.
