With the support of international organizations, drugs would be purchased, especially for catastrophic diseases, cancer and other chronic diseases.
The second phase within the process for drug acquisition en masse by the Ministry of Public Health (MSP) began this Thursday.
According to that State portfolio, the process of massive and immediate purchase of medicines was published in the public purchasing portal.
This acquisition, he explained, will be made exceptionally through a public company.
For purchase drugs at the national level, you must go through three phases: preparatory, pre-contractual and contractual.
The first requires, for example, the report of relevance of the Comptroller while the pre-contractual includes the publication of the process, a hearing of questions, the presentation of the offer, the qualification of the offer, the award and the signing the contract.
“The process has the respective report of relevance of the Comptroller General of the State and has complied with all current regulations. The preparatory phase was carried out within the framework of joint work with the Ecuadorian Social Security Institute (IESS), ”he said in a press release.
IESS patients hope that the promise of endowment of medicines is not sporadic. Teodoro Maldonado Carbo hospital plans to increase purchasing processes
Initially the MSP will acquire 149 drug items for an approximate amount of $ 20 million and it is expected, he added, that before the end of the year its distribution in health units will begin.
That ministry declared between August and October a focused emergency to purchase 123 medications for its 135 hospitals but was only able to buy 42.
