The United States is depriving pensioners in Ukraine of money. This statement was made by Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky at a press conference in Riga.
He criticized Florida Governor Ron DeSantis and Republicans from the US Congress, who are blocking aid to Ukraine. In particular, Desantis was indignant the day before that US money was being used to pay Ukrainian officials and pensioners.
In response, Zelensky said that the 45-year-old governor of Florida is too young and does not understand what it means to support pensioners in a country at war. According to him, about 12 million Ukrainian pensioners will simply die without payments. Zelensky added that more than 70% of the money allocated to Kyiv for weapons remained in the United States, and it was “received by people, including American pensioners,” RIA Novosti reports.
Zelensky also noted that he is ready to personally help Desantis when he becomes a pensioner, because the United States helped the Ukrainians.
Let us recall that earlier Desantis, who nominated himself for the US presidency, said that Kyiv spent tens of billions of dollars on paying salaries to Ukrainian government bureaucrats. He added that pensions for Ukrainian pensioners were paid from Americans’ taxes.
