Just three simple ways will help make your life bright and happy. So says psychologist with 30 years of experience Jeffrey Berntshein, writes Doctor Peter.

According to him, there is no need to set a goal to become happy at all costs, but it is important to do at least something to feel joy more often.

Firstly, you need to develop a positive attitude, the specialist believes. He explained that the point is not to ignore problems and difficulties, to put on a smile and pretend to be happy if your heart is heavy. You just have to remember about all the good things, even the most insignificant ones, and focus on the positive aspects of your life, the psychologist added. In his 30 years of work, he says he’s noticed that happy people tend to surround themselves with positivity—they seek out uplifting relationships, engage in activities that bring them joy, and consciously avoid negativity.

Secondly, you should practice kindness and build and maintain meaningful relationships with loved ones and society at large. According to the psychologist, those who know how to give feel involved and belong, and receive emotional support.

Finally, one must strive to become better, to develop—to see problems as opportunities for learning and development, rather than as obstacles, Bernstein concluded.
