Prices for rental housing have jumped in Russia

The cost of rental housing in the largest cities of Russia in 2023 increased by almost a quarter. The Kommersant newspaper writes about this with reference to experts.

They cited data from Tsian-Analytics, according to which, at the end of 2023, the average cost of renting one-room apartments in the 18 largest regional markets of Russia was 27 thousand rubles per month, two-room apartments – 39.5 thousand rubles. In general, the figures increased by 25.8% and 24%, respectively, experts noted.

At the same time, one-room apartments in cities with a population of over a million at the end of December cost an average of 25.2 thousand rubles per month, two-room apartments – 30.6 thousand rubles: an increase of 19.9% and 18.9%, respectively, the Banki.ru portal clarifies. . The data shows that the most pronounced growth occurred in Perm, Chelyabinsk, Novosibirsk, Nizhny Novgorod and St. Petersburg. In Moscow, you will now have to pay an average of 54.2 thousand rubles for a one-room apartment, and 98.2 thousand rubles for a two-room apartment.

Experts attribute the rise in prices to the fact that the population continues to concentrate in the largest agglomerations. In addition, the return of relocants and the abandonment of the practice of remote work played a role in 2023. Moreover, after the holiday lull, real estate rental rates will continue to rise, analysts predict.
