“We, the GDO, are threatening the President with a civil war, which we are ready for if our demands and advice are not heeded. We GDOs, it’s almost as if we are PhDs. They are proud to be. The video travels through the networks, generating all kinds of comments.
Their obvious rival releases another video, claiming to be criminals, seeking social change. They are the ‘champions’ of justice. Meanwhile, in a nearby settlement, gunshots echo in the air celebrating the escape of the most wanted criminal.
Today, the guards and guides taken hostage in several prisons, reading the manifesto and asking for their lives, shake our conscience even more and add elements to the collective anxiety.
In this environment where words seem empty, reclaiming them is an important task. Words give birth to actions, they are the carriers of life, sometimes death. You cannot build peace when you proclaim the continuation of the same activities that brought the country to the precipice it is on.
To make? Almost all of us ask ourselves this question. Many leave, leave their homes, their friends, their neighborhood and look for safer places, others are locked up behind bars, most remain silent and hide.
Many look to God for comfort and strength. Interestingly, GMOs do this too. Which clearly says that it is not enough to say Lord, Lord, nor that prayer is a guarantee of goodness to Him.
There are prisons that do not fulfill their purpose, but ordinary citizens turn neighborhoods, citadels and blocks into prisons.
In some sectors, they are gangs that mark their territory with barriers and guards that allow their residents to enter and exit, the hours they can do so and with whom. They function as parallel municipalities, collecting property taxes, issuing business licenses, organizing parties, collecting taxes and imposing rules of coexistence in their domains.
In the rest of the city, almost all neighborhoods want to have bars, and a struggle has been established between the citizens and the Municipality. On the one hand, there is a need for security; on the other hand, preservation of public space and free movement. Both are right and both needs will grow exponentially, how can we transform it for the better?
It is important to restore spaces and in some way convey the joy of living. Since they are organized for this purpose, it would be interesting to carry out activities that do not change reality by their causes or manifestations, but require the participation of families and residents. For example, organize a competition for the most beautiful, most innovative, best painted and preserved bars. Turn them into hanging gardens, as a reason to visit: the route of the best doors. The most beautiful. Make them walls of opinion on non-political topics that concern citizens. Euthanasia could be one of them. Make them creative support for sector news.
There are possibilities that, although patches, generate change, because they tame fear. (OR)
