In St. Petersburg, there is a mini-application of digital services “I live here”, which includes the “Road Cleaning” service. With its help, city residents can receive information about the cleaning of all types of road surfaces – from pedestrian areas and sidewalks to highways – within a radius of 1 km from the user. The application displays job data both in real time and over the last 24 hours.
“This service was first launched in our city at the beginning of 2023. In winter, he informs about snow removal, and in the warm season – about how the roads were washed and swept. Residents can monitor the quality of cleaning near their homes and, if necessary, contact the appropriate services. You can also leave a request, for example, through the “Our St. Petersburg” portal. In general, thanks to the introduction of new digital technologies in various areas of the city economy, the life of St. Petersburg residents is becoming noticeably more comfortable,” said Governor Alexander Beglov.
As the press service of Smolny told RosBalt news agency, the service was developed for the convenience of residents as part of the governor’s instructions to create a comfortable urban environment. The user can see what is happening in his area, on his street. When you launch the application, a map with multi-colored lines is displayed on the screen—tracks that can be used to determine the movement of snow removal equipment over the past 24 hours. Different colors represent different types of work. When you click on a track, information about the time and duration of cleaning, and what equipment was used becomes available.
Special tabs display the names of the road elements on which cleaning is being carried out: the roadway, the sidewalk. They help to find the type of work that interests the user at the moment. The service also provides information about organizations responsible for cleaning streets and highways in areas, including their full names and telephone numbers.
Let us note that since the beginning of winter, almost 1 meter of precipitation has fallen in St. Petersburg. Over the past 24 hours, dump trucks transported 25 thousand cubic meters of snow from city roads to storage and melting points. In addition, 127 cubic meters of garbage were collected from the streets. Currently, the city employs 850 units of equipment and approximately the same number of manual cleaning specialists.
