The collection of signatures for the nomination of Vladimir Putin as a candidate for the presidency of Russia continues in St. Petersburg. Not only St. Petersburg residents, but also residents of other regions of the country can vote in support of the candidate.
Deputy of the Kherson Regional Duma Yulia Sipko took advantage of this opportunity. She signed her signature in support of the candidate together with Alexander Malkevich, adviser to the governor of St. Petersburg for work with new regions and member of the Public Chamber of the Russian Federation.
“Such a unique story has unfolded here. Walking around the city today, I met my colleague, and we decided to do it together, to put our signature here in St. Petersburg for our candidate,” Malkevich explained to reporters.
According to Yulia Sipko, she came to visit relatives for the New Year holidays. “I didn’t have time to vote for our candidate while in Genichesk, and today in this wonderful city I have this opportunity,” the deputy explained.
Points for collecting signatures for the nomination of Vladimir Putin in the presidential elections operate in all districts of St. Petersburg. They are located in places convenient for citizens, including shopping centers and metro stations. You can also cast your vote for a candidate at Vladimir Putin’s regional election headquarters and at the Popular Front office. In total, 39 signature collection points have been deployed in the city on the Neva.
Let us remind you that Vladimir Putin decided to run in the elections as a self-nominated candidate. In order to be registered as a candidate, he needs to collect 300 thousand signatures of voters in different regions of the country.
Presidential elections will take place from March 15 to 17, 2024. For the first time, residents of new regions of Russia – the Lugansk and Donetsk People’s Republics, as well as the Zaporozhye and Kherson regions – will take part in them.
