Little patients of the K.A. Rauchfus in St. Petersburg on December 15 became participants in VTB’s charity program “World without Tears”, the press service of the bank reported. Its goal is to ensure that every child can receive quality treatment, regardless of where they live. The project has been helping children’s hospitals in Russia to purchase the necessary medical equipment for 18 years.
As part of the action, VTB handed over to the medical institution a surgical table for carrying out operations for children with severe injuries. This is the only children’s hospital in the city center that provides emergency medical care to patients with any surgical pathology. According to the head physician of the medical center Vyacheslav Detkov, the hospital saves the lives and health of dozens of young patients every day. Doctors perform more than 20 operations per day for children with cancer, chest and abdominal pathologies.
In addition to the purchase of equipment, an obligatory part of the “World without Tears” project is children’s parties for hospital patients with the participation of the heroes of the “Good night, kids!” Program. However, due to the pandemic, they were held online throughout the year. For 18 years of the existence of “World without Tears” we have visited 77 constituent entities of the Russian Federation, and received help from more than 180 medical institutions. We would like every child in the country to have the opportunity to receive qualified medical care at the place of residence. Let us remind you that the World Without Tears project is a part of the Healthy Country general banking program. In total, in 2021, 27 hospitals from 22 cities took part in the program, including Moscow, St. Petersburg, Izhevsk, Orenburg, Chita, Tyumen, Engels, Khabarovsk, Yoshkar-Ola, Cherepovets, Yaroslavl, Shakhty, Kemerovo, Volgograd, Dzerzhinsk, Penza, Nizhnevartovsk, Nazran, Anadyr, Elista, Salekhard, as well as the village of Kurumkan (Republic of Buryatia).
