President Guillermo Lasso spoke out about the sinking in Zaruma

The president ordered the Risk Secretariat to coordinate actions to assist the affected families. Several homes affected results.

A few minutes after a land subsidence occurred in the Zaruma canton, in El Oro, on Wednesday night, President Guillermo Lasso ordered the National Service for Risk and Emergency Management of Ecuador (Sngre) to coordinate actions with the Autonomous Government Decentralized (GAD), as well as with other institutions, to serve the affected families.

“The team will be on site accompanying and offering immediate services,” Lasso posted on social media.

The sinkhole occurred on Colón and 10 de Agosto streets, affecting several homes, reported the Secretariat for Risk Management.

Sinking affects homes in the center of Zaruma, in El Oro
