The Intercultural Book Festival of Quito 2021 (FILQ 2021) is organized by the Municipality of the Metropolitan District of Quito, through the Ministry of Culture, the Ministry of Culture and Heritage, the Chamber of Books and independent publishers, with the support of the Alliance for Entrepreneurship and Innovation.
FILQ 2021 is open to the public from December 15 to 19, it has thirty stands, fifteen of them were selected under the modality of public announcement in the month of November 2021. This event, considered cultural and artistic, brings together groups, enterprises , industries and local and national cultural and literary groups, in the Metropolitan Cultural Center, the Bellavista headquarters of the Benjamín Carrión Cultural Center, in Giaccomo Roca N33-32 and Bosmediano streets and in the National Library of Ecuador Eugenio Espejo, in the streets Sodiro and Valparaíso.
The objective of FILQ 2021 is to promote economic reactivation in the cultural, literary and editorial fields, affected by the COVID-19 pandemic and to strengthen the National System of Culture.

During the Intercultural Book Festival – FILQ 2021 creative writing workshops, origami, home screen printing will be presented for stickers and T-shirts, polygonal masks, plays, live broadcasts of stories read aloud. Events such as Thinking about poetry, Editing in times of crisis; 180 days: questions and answers, Electric Angel, Beyond dust and ash, by Eliécer Cárdenas, among others.

At FILQ 2021, where the Ecuadorian Book Chamber participates, the work of independent writers, artists, publishers and booksellers who have kept the country’s cultural production alive in times of crisis stands out. It promotes reading in children and youth from the children’s and youth space that will have a specialized point in the Benjamín Carrión Cultural Center, Bellavista headquarters. (I)
