Nutritionist Lazurenko: You can’t sit down at the New Year’s table hungry

Nutritionist Natalya Lazurenko gave recommendations on how to eat properly before New Year’s Eve. On the eve of the New Year, we usually arrange a real feast on the tables with many different dishes. However, it should be remembered that overeating can lead to unpleasant consequences not only physical, but also emotional, the nutritionist said, writes ridus.ru.

Overeating fatty foods can negatively affect the functioning of the gastrointestinal tract and cause emotional dissatisfaction the next day. The doctor warns about the possibility of self-criticism due to excessive eating.

To avoid unpleasant consequences, the nutritionist recommends not sitting down to the New Year’s table hungry. It is better to eat a balanced diet throughout the day. For example, from 12 to 14 o’clock you can eat a traditional salad, from two to six – meat, fish or seafood, and from six in the evening to midnight give preference to vegetables and fruits. Thus, if on New Year’s Eve you decide to try a spoonful of Olivier or herring under a fur coat, this will not lead to any serious consequences.

The nutritionist also advises spending New Year’s Eve actively: singing, dancing, playing games and reading poetry. Such activities will help to avoid overeating and unnecessary stress on the gastrointestinal tract.
