A bullet wound ended the life of 16-year-old Erick Darío M. in the La Cuerdita sector, of the Crisanto Vera compound, in the La Concordia canton.

According to witnesses, another minor looked out of the window of his house with a gun. Supposedly, he was joking with the device and suddenly activated it, leaving a projectile that hit Erick.
The teenager fell to the ground near a vehicle parked outside his home.
Rayton Batioja, stepfather of the deceased, was herding cattle on a nearby farm and upon hearing the projectile shot he moved to his home. “I found him (Erick) with blood on his chest where he received the bullet impact, but when he was transferred to a health center, he died,” he said.
Police agents from the Directorate of Violent Deaths (Dinased) and Criminalistics began investigative proceedings at the site.
The body of the young man was transferred by Legal Medicine to the Forensic Center of Santo Domingo and the minor allegedly responsible for the crime was first taken to the district of the National Police of La Concordia, and then handed over to the judicial authorities of the town. (I)
