In 67 Russian regions, the need for workers has increased. There is a significant shortage of personnel in the country, according to a review by the Expert RA agency.
At the same time, in seven regions of the Russian Federation, the need for workers increased by more than 50%, the text notes.
The greatest need for personnel is Ingushetia (94.1%), St. Petersburg (69.1%), Perm Territory (67%), North Ossetia (66.4%) and Tyva (61.4%). The top ten also included the Moscow (52.2%) and Sakhalin regions (51.3%), the Nenets Autonomous Okrug (35.9%), the Tambov region (35.2%), and the Altai Republic (34.8%).
According to the authors of the study, the need for workers is growing most in regions where employment rates are highest, as well as an increase in production workload.
Experts explain that the record low unemployment rate has created new challenges related to personnel shortages. Thus, according to official data, over the year the unemployment rate decreased from 3.9 to 2.9%, and in some regions unemployment dropped to 1.5% and below. Against this background, regions have to look for additional opportunities and labor reserves. Employers also use reserves in the form of migrants, prisoners, students, and pensioners. However, these resources are not enough, the study noted.
