In St. Petersburg, the collection of signatures from citizens has begun in support of Vladimir Putin’s self-nomination in the upcoming presidential elections. The training for volunteer signature collectors took place at the city regional election headquarters. The collectors were told about the ethics of communicating with potential voters, the legal rules for filling out signature sheets and the list of documents that a person who wants to sign in support of a candidate must have.
“In St. Petersburg, as throughout the country, for those wishing to sign in support of the nomination of Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin, simple and clear rules apply: a person must have a passport, he must have a city registration and he must be over 18 years old. If he is 20 or 45 years old, he must have a new passport in accordance with his age,” said Ekaterina Mashkova, deputy chief of staff of the regional headquarters of the presidential candidate.
The first point for collecting signatures in support of Vladimir Putin opened in the regional branch of the Popular Front, and from 17:00 volunteers will picket on the streets of the Central, Nevsky, Kalininsky and Krasnogvardeisky districts of the city. From the beginning of next week they will begin working in all districts of the Northern capital. In total, 39 points will operate in St. Petersburg to collect signatures in support of Vladimir Putin.
Note that the Russian presidential elections will be held on March 15, 16 and 17, 2024. For the first time, residents of the Donetsk and Lugansk People’s Republics, Zaporozhye and Kherson regions will take part in them. In order to register as a presidential candidate, you must collect at least 300 thousand signatures from voters across the country.
