The renovated Ladozhskaya metro station will open ahead of schedule in St. Petersburg

The authorities of St. Petersburg plan to open the Ladozhskaya metro station after renovation on January 27, 2024, which is a week ahead of schedule. This was reported by the Smolny press service with reference to the Transport Committee.

“This will be a gift to the city, veterans and residents for a memorable date – the 80th anniversary of the complete liberation of Leningrad from the fascist blockade,” said Committee Chairman Valentin Enokayev.

It is noted that work on the overhaul of the lobby and inclined passage of the Ladozhskaya metro station is being carried out ahead of schedule. To date, three of the four escalators have been overhauled, including the complete replacement of the balustrade, as well as the complete replacement of natural stone wall cladding and columns. The station has new entrance and exit groups of doors with a separate entrance for people with limited mobility. Two ramps were also equipped for entry and exit of people with limited mobility to Ladozhsky Station.

In addition, at the Ladozhskaya metro station, as part of the overhaul, the engineering communications systems were completely updated – cold and hot water supply, sewerage, ventilation, air conditioning, heating, communication networks and power supply.

Let us remind you that the station was closed on March 4, 2023.
