In Russia, it is impossible to solve the problem with road markings that are not visible under the snow. This was stated to Gazeta.Ru by lawyer of the Public movement of motorists “Freedom of choice” lawyer Sergei Radko.

Recall that the snowfall that hit Moscow on the eve turned out to be the strongest over the past 30 years.

According to Radko, the problem is insoluble, “because we can’t do anything about our winter.” “And immediately removing the snow is also unrealistic. Therefore, everyone can only be more attentive, ”he stressed. Separately, Radko pointed out the peculiarity of the new interchanges and overpasses, where, before a turn, you need to occupy the extreme lane much in advance so as not to cross a solid line. The lawyer clarified that it is extremely difficult for drivers to appeal against fines for non-observance of the markings, which are not visible due to the layer of snow.

“There are hardly any chances to challenge here, because the camera does not record the presence or absence of markings, but the location of the car in the place where it should not be. Of course, if the picture shows that there is no marking, since it is under the snow, then you need to try to appeal. But I think that such a resolution will remain in force for formal reasons and no one will delve into it, ”he explained.

The lawyer also doubted that during bad weather the employees of the Traffic Management Center (TSODD) manage to quickly manually turn off the cameras for marking in those places where drivers may not notice it. “Although, probably, some cameras really turn off, but this is unlikely – now, let’s say, the markings are not visible, and in three minutes a snowplow will pass. It turns out that the data center must monitor each camera online, which, in principle, is hardly possible, “he said.
