Ukraine’s military resistance may end in the spring of 2024. This was stated by the Governor of the Zaporozhye region, Evgeniy Balitsky, writes RIA Novosti.
According to him, the Ukrainian army is suffering heavy losses, the Ukrainian armed forces have a “very low” offensive potential, and also do not have enough shells and training. Balitsky is confident that “most likely the front will collapse.”
“Prospects for the Ukrainian army, I’m not a prophet, of course… <…> winter, spring – the whole story will end from the point of view of organized military resistance,” Balitsky noted. According to him, “the Ukrainian army consists either of grandfathers who cannot fight, or punks, just boys who are also not properly trained.”
Earlier, the Welt publication, citing German international security expert Nico Lange, reported that the Ukrainian military may be preparing for a new counter-offensive, which is expected to begin in 2024. In favor of this version, the publication cited a list of required weapons, which Ukraine transferred to the United States. The list includes Black Hawk and Apache helicopters, F-16 and F-18 aircraft, missile systems, Abrams tanks and drones. The expert also expressed the opinion that a bridgehead on the left bank of the Dnieper could become a starting point. In addition, the publication indicated that the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Valery Zaluzhny was not a supporter of the start of the summer offensive in 2023. At the same time, according to Welt, the counter-offensive of Ukrainian troops in 2024 will use combinations of various combat systems, “which was never implemented in the summer.”
