The sale of low-alcohol drinks, including beer, at gas stations, may lead to an increase in drunk driving and drunken accidents. Aleksey Kazantsev, a narcologist, warned about this in an interview with Sputnik radio, stressing that he had a very negative attitude to the idea of selling beer at gas stations.
Recall that the Ministry of Energy proposed to lift the ban on the sale of alcohol at gas stations. It was noted that the sale of alcohol is intended to improve the marginality of the gas station.
“Why is there beer at the gas stations?” – Kazantsev asked rhetorically. According to him, the sale of beer at gas stations will lead to the fact that people will drink more often while driving. “Beer is considered a mild alcohol, and many consider themselves to be great drivers. They think that they will drink a few sips of beer and nothing bad will happen, they will drive the car the same way as always, ”Kazantsev said.
“If a person is prone to alcohol abuse, beer will provoke him once again. There is a phrase: “Beer for a dash”. And the “jerk” in our country, unfortunately, means that a person either begins to consume even more beer, or switches to stronger alcoholic beverages, “the doctor concluded.
