The Balakovo PhosAgro complex will gradually increase its production volume by 28%. As PhosAgro CEO Mikhail Rybnikov said at a ceremony dedicated to the 50th anniversary of the company’s production complex in Balakovo, such production growth will be the result of the implementation of the third stage of the corporate development strategy.
Today, the Balakovo branch of Apatit JSC (PhosAgro Group) annually produces more than 2.3 million tons of mineral fertilizers and other products, and this level is gradually increasing due to the modernization of production. Mikhail Rybnikov noted that the initial investment project for developing the capacities of the Balakovo complex, approved three years ago, was revised and enlarged, and funding was increased from 15.6 to 27 billion rubles. The updated investment program provides for the use of new technical solutions using the best available technologies.
“The third stage of development of the production complex is now actively being implemented with the creation of a flexible scheme for the production of MAF/DAF/NPS/NPK fertilizers and an increase in the gross volume of finished products. By 2026, the company plans to create capacity at the Balakovo complex to produce almost 1 million tons of complex NPK fertilizers and more than 0.5 million tons of DAP. As a result of the implementation of the third stage, the total volume of production at the Balakovo complex may increase by 28%, depending on the range of products produced,” said Mikhail Rybnikov.
The General Director of PhosAgro PJSC emphasized that the production lines created in Balakovo will be focused on meeting the growing needs of domestic farmers.
In congratulatory addresses for the company’s anniversary from the Ministry of Agriculture, the Ministry of Industry and Trade, the Russian Union of Chemists, the Russian Association of Fertilizer Manufacturers and many others, it was noted that ensuring the country’s food security is a strategic priority for PhosAgro.
President of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Russian Federation Sergei Katyrin, in particular, emphasized that, despite difficult economic conditions, our country manages to maintain first place in the world in wheat exports. And this is the “undoubted colossal merit” of the jubilee enterprise, which annually demonstrates impressive rates of development and updates production records.
“You produce high-quality, environmentally effective growth vitamins that successfully compete on the world market. At the same time, PhosAgro PJSC maintains the price of fertilizers for agricultural producers at last year’s level. The company’s initiatives enable the country’s farmers to prepare for the next year in a timely and comprehensive manner,” noted Sergei Katyrin.
In turn, congratulating the company’s staff on their anniversary, the governor of the Saratov region, Roman Busargin, noted its significant contribution to the development of the economy and the regional agro-industrial complex. He recalled that the Balakovo branch of Apatit JSC this year became the winner of the regional competition “Investor of the Year”. PhosAgro allocated a record 11.7 billion rubles for the development of the enterprise. As part of the corporate development strategy, one of the sulfuric acid plants was modernized, its productivity increased by 40%. Previously, new warehouses were put into operation, phosphoric acid production was modernized, and the phosphorus fertilizer shop began producing granulated ammonium sulfate. In the period from 2019 to 2023, the company allocated more than 28 billion rubles for the development of the Balakovo production complex as a whole. The volume of investments in the Balakovo complex in the next 5 years will exceed 40 billion rubles.
