Analysts conducted a study to find out how Russians are preparing their budget for the new year and how much they intend to spend on holiday treats. Interesting findings from this survey are available to RT.
According to the survey results, it turned out that 31% of respondents plan to allocate from 4 to 5 thousand rubles for the New Year’s table, 25% are ready to spend from 6 to 7 thousand rubles, 16% will allocate an amount from 8 to 10 thousand rubles, while only 8% are calculated with a budget of 11 to 15 thousand rubles.
It is especially interesting that 6% of Russians intend to limit themselves to an amount of up to 3 thousand rubles.
The study also revealed the main items of expenditure on the New Year’s table: 28% plan to spend on caviar, 26% on strong alcohol, and 21% on hot dishes.
Experts emphasize that the majority of respondents believe that the costs of the festive table should be paid by the host of the evening, and the guests should bring something of their own to the table (40%). However, 29% are convinced that all expenses fall on the host, and another 31% believe that expenses should be equally divided among all participants in the celebration.
Half of Russians try to plan their budget for the new year in advance, but 43% admit that even with careful planning they still expect unexpected expenses.
Only 7% of respondents are ready to purchase all the necessary products without hesitation. However, 89% of survey participants confirm their desire to save money.
Researchers found that the most popular methods of saving are: using loyalty or cashback programs, discount cards (28%), purchasing products with a long shelf life in advance (27%) and monitoring promotions for necessary products (26%).
According to analysts, the least common method was buying products in wholesale stores – only 8% of Russians prefer this method, and 11% do not resort to any saving methods at all.
