They had the audacity to repeat that they will honor their word, but their actions show the opposite, not only by the votes of the ruling party and the bloc of whoever leads the Assembly, without an immediate reaction from the authorities, despite the president’s public promise to defend the prosecutor. They repeat that they do not support her impeachment, but vote for its implementation. It’s a double story, double standards. They want to throw out those who fought bravely against organized crime and its political allies.

If the majority of leaders and members of the assembly believe that they can constantly deceive all Ecuadorians, they are wrong. If you think everyone is stupid and stupid to be fooled, you are wrong.

The most serious thing of all is that the legislative majority is progressing with supervision beyond legal norms, trampling on procedures. They hurriedly archive the previous processes just to get to the process against the Prosecutor as soon as possible.

These parliamentarians are playing with fire because they challenge the institutions and even the judgments of the Constitutional Court, which, if it boldly assumed that its decisions are respected, without political calculations, should lead to the removal of these representatives.

Members of Parliament dispute the very clear verdict of the Constitutional Court, which in its verdict 122-22-JC/23 of October 25 found that “The Assembly and all its members are obliged to support the political process of prosecution. complete rigor and strict adherence to the procedure regulated by the Constitution and the Law.” He added that the exercise of control authority of the Assembly by its nature has a margin of discretion “but not arbitrariness” and that they cannot abuse this authority.
